This week in Science, Year 2 have written and carried out an investigation into absorbency. We chose a range of materials and as we observed the materials during the experiment, some surprising results were revealed! The children discovered that old clothes and sponges were fantastic at soaking up water, while materials like plastic barely absorbed any at all. This hands-on experience helped them understand how different materials have unique properties that make them useful for various purposes in our everyday lives.
