Personal Statement

I wanted to become a parent governor because I wanted to be involved in my child’s education, I believe that every child deserves a good education and every child matters.

As vice chair I will endeavour to approach every issue I face with the question, and support the chair however I can. My objective is to work in partnership with the senior leadership team to collectively improve and raise standards for the children of St. Joseph’s.

Personal Statement
I have now retired from a career in education. My final post was as head of a primary school much the same size as St Joseph’s. It is a great privilege to be a Foundation Governor of this lovely school. I hope that my past experience will enable me to support the head and staff to continue to develop its collegiate and spiritual ethos. I have always been keen to see children fully develop their potential. This can take many paths but we must never forget the importance of academic achievement in enabling them to participate in the modern world. I have always had a particular interest in the teaching of reading without which children cannot make good progress across all subjects. It has, therefore, been a great pleasure to be able to volunteer to read with children in the school.

Personal Statement
Having worked at St Joseph’s for over 20 years I am proud to represent the members of staff on the governing body. I feel I can ably offer a staff viewpoint and perspective to discussion and debate. As part of the Senior Leadership team my work is at the heart of making decisions that impact on the education and progression of each child. I believe that all children should be able to meet their potential and this drives me to continually work hard and find ways to enable progression to constantly move forwards. My own passion for reading and books inspires me to share this gift with others.

Personal Statement

I have retired from a career in nursing. I have lived in Greenwich all my married life where we have brought up two children who now have their own children. Two of our grandchildren are of primary school age. I recognise the importance of education: academic, emotional and spiritual. I was therefore pleased to be asked to become a governor of St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.

As a governor I bring my knowledge and experience of nursing in which everything is centred on the patient. This attitude is transferable to education where the pupil is central to everything. Thus I believe my skills will be useful as I support the head teacher and her team.”

Personal Statement

As a Foundation Governor, my aims and objectives are to establish a great stimulating relationship and an enabling environment between St. Joseph’s School, Staff, Church, Parents and Pupils. I want all to be happy, confident and to be the best that they can be. I want to support St. Joseph’s to its fullest potential. I would love to assist the existing Governors for the growth of St. Joseph’s. Every pupil ought to be given the best educational start as, “Every Child Matters”.

My duties are to serve the School, Pupils and Parents to the best of my knowledge. To promote high standards of educational achievements at St. Joseph’s. To attentively listen and to represent the voices of parents, staff and pupils. To enable each child to develop to their fullest potential in a caring Christian environment that bonds the home, school and community together.

I am grateful to the parents that nominated me and equally grateful to Father Kevin Robinson and Sister Mary Selvaraifsm for recommending me for this position. Thanks for giving me this great opportunity to help develop St Joseph’s.

So help me Dear Lord. Amen.
