KS1 Caterpillar Discovery!

On Wednesday the Year 1 and Year 2 children wee exploring areas of Forest School at break time when they discovered a very fury little creature. We made a comfy bed using leaves and twigs in our bug inspection jar and allowed the creature to crawl inside for inspection.

We brought the fury caterpillar some fruits and have built a home for it inside the Butterfly enclosure. Hopefully soon it will form it’s cocoon and we will watch it transform! Today we discovered that it is a ‘Yellow Tail’ Caterpillar which will transform into a Snow Moth!

We also looked after some snails and slugs too. We were very gentle and kind to them and kept them safe in our Forest
