Summer spring rolls - it's a wrap!

A taste of Vietnam at STJ

In cooking club today, the children wrapped summer rolls.  To save time, Mrs Weston prepared the cucumber and cooked the pork mix.  We then had to soak the rice paper wraps in warm water for 10 seconds, and then quickly layer it with lettuce, rice noodles, coriander, mint, cucumber and prawns before the wrap got too sticky.  We also made pork wraps, layering all the ingredients as the prawns, except, swapping out the mint and the prawns for the mince.

It was a bit fiddly trying to keep all the ingredients in the wrap whilst folding it, but we did our best!  Once done, we placed them on a bed of salad with a lime slice, and took them home.  As always, Mrs Weston made some for Miss Maciejewski and Miss Harvey, who both enjoyed them with their evening meal.
