Friday 12th September 2025

This week Year 2 were taught about Saint Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa), the Roman Catholic nun and missionary known for her humanitarian work with the poor and destitute. Her feast day is on 5th September.  The children learnt about key aspects of her life which included founding the Missionaries of Charity to serve the sick and needy, her dedication to the "poorest of the poor" in India, and her receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize for her charitable efforts.   The children produced drawings, bookmarks, some children dress up as Saint Teresa to answer questions and all children produced a fact file on her life.

The children also reinforced their knowledge of counting and ordering numbers to twenty and beyond.  They enjoyed PE with ‘Coach’.
