Year 5 have been enjoying rounders in PE this term, developing their throwing and catching skills and the rules of the game learnt in Year 4.  The pictures show warm-up exercises before a match.  Each week, the children take charge of setting up the equipment, making sure it is set out correctly and that everyone knows their role in the team: bowling, fielding on a base and being a backstop, and, of course, batting.  We've witnessed clever fielding and throwing, running out batters before they get to base, and also plenty of excellent catches!  The children have really impressed with thieir knowledge of the game of rounders, and Mr Spalding can see a good Year 5 versus Year 4 game coming up in 2026!
