Year 2 have been super busy preparing for Christmas this week as we inch closer to the Christmas holidays.  Year 2 have been focussing on learning about the traditions of Advent in preparation for celebrating Jesus’ birth.  They have made Christmas cards, decorations, Advent Wreaths, Advent lanterns and attended a whole school Christmas Mass on Thursday.  In RE, the children continue to learn about the Nativity story.  In maths, they have continued learning about 3-D shapes and have explored counting the faces, edges and vertices.  The children have used ‘nets’ to make their own 3D shapes, creating beautiful Nativity scenes.
