The girls bring home the bronze

Our girls came third at the Jack Petchey Table Tennis Finals.
It was an incredible performance from St Joseph's girl’s table tennis team in the Jack Petchey Table Tennis School Finals, which took place today at the Redbridge Sports Centre in Ilford.
Schools from different boroughs participated in this tournament across 4 categories. Under 19 boys & girls, under 16 boys & girls, under 13 boys & girls and under 11 boys & girls. Our girls team, Sola, Jemima and Shirley, arrived at 7:30am to make their way to Ilford with Mr TJ and Mr Spalding. Despite them only training once a week and playing against schools whose children train every day, their performance was outstanding. So outstanding that they took 3rd place!
Our girls also demonstrated positive behaviour, kind words and respect towards the children from other schools throughout the event and thus, showed the best version of themselves.
They have also understood that competition goes beyond winning or losing. It's a great opportunity to showcase talents, meet new friends, control emotions, improve skills, and above all, it's a spot to see ourselves as a united community, promoting equality and diversity.
The girls were presented with bronze medals, Jack Petchey t-shirts and a water bottle each. We are very proud of their achievements.
