As part of Science Week, Year 3 carried out an experiment with ice.  The children predicted how salt and bicarbonate of soda would affect how quickly ice melts.  During the experiment, they discovered that the ice with salt melted the fastest.  The ice with bicarbonate of soda melted more slowly, and the ice on its own melted the slowest.  This showed that salt speeds up the melting process more than bicarbonate of soda.
