During Science week, Year 5 investigated the effect of salt on melting ice. Coming up with a hypothesis to begin with, the children formed 5 groups and then observed the time it took their ice to melt, depending on the amount of salt.

Their results showed that the more salt the ice had, the faster it melted, but interestingly, double the salt didn’t lead to half the melting time as some predicted. Finally, a large graph was drawn to show the data gathering in the investigation.
