In Year 2, we have been investigating animals living in a variety of microhabitats. A log in the Forest School is an example of a microhabitat. We discovered many insects such as woodlice, worms, a caterpillar and a slug, in microhabitats made out of dead wood. Even a pile of leaves is a microhabitat, and a home to many minibeasts. We had to be very careful not to disturb a variety of minibeasts encountered on the day.
