This week year 2 were introduced to the concept of persuasive writing.  To begin the lesson, we discussed how we persuade our friends to play our favourite game or our parents to buy the latest toy and then finally where these ideas came from: Persuasive adverts.  We then watched advertising clips with Ed Sheeran persuading the watchers to buy ketchup.

The children’s task was to work in groups and come up with a sales pitch to sell a hat or a cap.  The groups took turns to deliver their sales pitch to the class while one group member modelled the garment on an improvised catwalk.  Go year 2!
