In Science this week, we have continued our investigations into different materials, this time looking at the properties of insulation – the ability to keep heat in and cold out.  The children were tasked with discovering which materials made good insulators.  Choosing materials from paper, plastics, cotton and aluminium foil, our results showed that each material was able to keep some water warm for some time, but some longer than others.  The foil was particularly effective, and the newspaper surprisingly so!
