The children in Year Five enjoyed using their acting skills in English this week in preparation for writing a piece of suspenseful writing. They have looked at the skill of “showing not telling” to make their writing more interesting for the reader. In partners, they took it in turns to act out to each other an emotion whilst the other wrote down what they could see and their guess. We had a classful of very frightened, embarrassed, happy, nervous and excited children!
