This week in year two, we have been exploring work by a wonderful artist who uses mark making to create portraits of animals. She is called Olga Gamynina.

We had lots of fun using the pens, pencils and crayons exploring mark making with to reimagine parts of her work. We really focused on the direction of the marks, the thickness of the marks and how close or far apart she spaced the marks to create tone. We really tried to magpie her techniques when reimagining her images and considered carefully which tools would be perfect to create each mark. We were SO impressed with the results!!
