In RE, Year 1 have been learning about Ascension Day, focusing on the story of Jesus Christ returning to his Father in Heaven. They have also explored the promise of the Holy Spirit.  The children are becoming confident in recognising and naming symbols of the Holy Spirit and understand what these symbols represent. They know that the dove is a symbol of peace and the Holy Spirit in Christianity. To deepen their understanding, the children created stained-glass window artwork featuring a dove. They were able to explain how their design represents the Holy Spirit and what it symbolises for Christians.
