Today, Year 6 took part in a science investigation to celebrate Science Week. The children explored the variables that affect how quickly ice melts. Working in groups, they placed ice cubes into three separate bowls: one with salt, one with sugar, and one with nothing added. They then timed how long it took for the ice to melt in each bowl.
During the investigation, the children carefully observed what happened and compared the results. They noticed that the ice melted more quickly in the bowl with sugar than in the other bowls. After completing the experiment, the pupils recorded their observations and results in their books and wrote a conclusion based on their findings.
